Executive Summary

During the implementation of the 2021 activities, THE SOIL SOLUTION has engaged partners and stakeholders to implement programs earmarked for implementation for the year. The under cited activities were implemented in line with goals and objectives of The Soil Solution, the national goals and more generally the global goals.

Institutional Background

THE SOIL SOLUTION was established with the primary objective, to protect and make available suitable soils that physically and structurally support plants with adequate nutrients and water supply. Empowering Gambian Farmers, Women and Youth through presenting generally accepted, practically proven and scientifically based principles to promote sustainable soil management and to provide guidance to all stakeholders on how to translate these principles into practice, be it for farming, pastoralism, forestry or more general natural resources management among others.

Soil Sampling and Surveys

During the year under review SSGM conducted some Soil Sampling and Surveys for some about three (3) private farmers and a charitable organization which works with schools to improve their school food production. The Survey was basically targeting some few soil parameters so as to have some knowledge of the fertility of the soil and to neutralize any soil problem recommended by the survey. A total of about ten (10) hectares was surveyed for the three (3) requests, under this process.
